In the present study, a hydraulic shock absorber is proposed. Since the damper is mainly used in suspension energy recovery system, the damping characteristics of the damper under no-load state are studied in this paper. Structural design is conducted so that the unidirectional flow of the oil drives the hydraulic motor to generate electricity. Meanwhile, an asymmetrical extension/ compression damping force is obtained. A mathematical model of the shock absorber is established, and the main characteristics of the inherent damping force are obtained. Based on the established model, effects of the accumulator volume, accumulator preinflation pressure, hydraulic motor displacement, check valve inner diameter, and spring stiffness, hydraulic line length and inner diameter on the indicator characteristics are analyzed. Moreover, a series of experiments are conducted on the designed damper to evaluate the characteristics of the inherent damping force and analyze the effect of the accumulator volume and preinflation pressure on the damping characteristics......
We investigate data-driven, simple-to-implement residential environmental models that can serve as the basis for energy saving algorithms in both retrofits and new designs of residential buildings. Despite the nonlinearity of the underlying dynamics, using Koopman operator theory framework in this study we show that a linear second order model embedding, that captures the physics that occur inside a single or multi zone space does well when compared with data simulated using EnergyPlus.................
The design of bevel gear for use in the development of revolving rostrum is presented. The pinion gear is designed to rotate at 1400 rpm for the output gear of 23 rpm. A suitable gearmotor was selected for the design based on the bevel gear design analysis. The motion is transmitted to the rostrum via a shaft keyed to it with a gib-head key and assembled on the rostrum with a spline connector. The analysis of the bevel mesh shows that maximum deformation of about 26.552 mm occurs in the pinion due to the loading the pinion tooth.............
This study has endeavored to develop an Al2O3-filled natural fiber reinforced polymer composite which is intended to substitute the most widely used synthetic E-glass fiber material. To attain the desired objective of the work, 0, 5, 10, and 15 wt% Al2O3-filled chopped flax/unsaturated polyester resin composite have been developed by the conventional hand-lay-up method followed by a compression molding process. Consequently, characterization and mechanical property tests are conducted based on the ASTM standard..............
In this study, pressure supplying device based on thermal expansion and vacuum diffusion bonding method were used to weld magnesium alloy (AZ91) and aluminum alloy (6061). To enhance the microstructure and bonding properties of the welded Mg/Al alloys, the annealing process was continuously implemented on the composite specimens. Elemental analysis and structural observation/compound identification were conducted using an electron probe microanalyzer and a scanning electron microscope, respectively. For further assessment of the diffusion zone, microstructural examination was carried out using a transmission electron microscope...............
